Academic Services
School Counselors provide guidance services to assist students with course selection, career awareness, academic success and personal enrichment. It is important for your students to work closely with their counselor to ensure that they are on track for high school graduation and postsecondary success.

Glenda Bonilla-Santos (A-Garceau)

I come from a small town in the center of Puerto Rico. I am happily married and have three beautiful daughters. My journey in education started in 2006 when I graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Education. Later on, I also completed my Master's Degree in School Counseling and Clinical Counseling. I have been a part of the Somerset community since 2014, and it holds a special place in my heart. I consider myself blessed and honored to have the opportunity to serve you and your family.
Theresa Fisher (Garcia-Moreno)

My name is Theresa Fisher and I am honored to join the Somerset school community. With 41 years of experience in education, I've had the privilege of walking alongside students, families, and educators through nearly every stage of learning and growth. Each year has reinforced my deep belief in the power of connection, support, and listening. Throughout my career, I've worked with students from diverse backgrounds, helping them navigate academic challenges, personal development, social-emotional needs, and future planning. My goal is always the same: to help every student feel seen, heard, and valued. I'm excited to bring my passion, experience, and heart to this community -- and even more excited to learn from all of you. I look forward to building relationships, fostering trust, and supporting our shared mission of helping every student thrive. "Counselors help students embrace their uniqueness, celebrate their strengths, and pursue their dreams."
Paola Elizondo (Morin-Z)

I have been in the education field for 18 years, 16 of those years before coming here were at Edgewood ISD. I was a Dual Language teacher for 8 years and then I earned my Masters in School Counseling. I believe that if you are in this career it's because you truly want to be here. It is not an easy career, but if you are passionate for what you do in the education field, then everyday is worth it. I love working with the students and I love seeing them problem-solve and succeed! I am a wife and mother of 2 young boys and that's definitely another full time job after work! I am here to serve parents and students. Please contact me if you need anything.
Sabrina A. Cardona (College & Career)

It is my pleasure to have the opportunity to share my years of experience with and learn from the Somerset ISD community. I have been in education for 24 years; 5 as a special education math teacher, 6 as an elementary counselor and 13 as a high school counselor. I earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology (1997) and a Master of Science degree in School Counseling (2006) at Texas A&M International University in Laredo, TX. I spent 20 years at United ISD in Laredo before moving to San Antonio to be closer to family. I am excited and look forward to working with all the students, families, staff and community members of Somerset to make the best year possible!
