San Antonio teens and families are invited to explore exciting career opportunities at Trades Discovery Day, happening Saturday, September 19, from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Mays Family Clubhouse, 123 Ralph Ave.
The free event will give students the opportunity to discover the trades industry through fun, hands-on life skills activities and connect directly with professionals working in the field.
A total of 22 companies will be in attendance, including ABC South Texas, Air Co Mechanical, Americrane, Big State Electric, Bartlett Cocke, Campbell Painting, Central Electric, Chamberlin Roofing & Waterproofing, Dex Imaging, Fire Alarm Systems, Holt Cat, Infinity Concrete, Jack Laurence, Joeris, The Levy Company, Marek, Milwaukee, Noble, Robins & Morton, Quarter Moon Plumbing, TD Industries and Verus Air Services.
Many of these companies have contributed to major construction and infrastructure projects throughout San Antonio and across Texas, giving students a unique opportunity to learn about careers directly from industry professionals.
Students can explore career paths in heavy equipment, electrical, welding, plumbing, construction, roofing, framing and drywall, commercial painting, HVAC and more.
In addition to hands-on activities and career connections, attendees can enter for free T-shirts and raffle prizes.
Trades Discovery Day is free and open to San Antonio teens and families. Students interested in exploring career opportunities beyond the traditional four-year college path are encouraged to attend and discover where a career in the trades could take them.
