Dear Somerset ISD Parents and Guardians,
Thank you for your trust and belief in Somerset ISD. We recognize how difficult the past few days have been for our students, staff, and families. I want to reaffirm our unwavering commitment that safety and security is our highest priority.
Our students and staff play a vital role in maintaining a safe, secure, and supportive learning environment. Somerset ISD implemented the See Something, Say Something campaign and anonymous reporting system last year to provide an avenue of communication for suspicious activity. Through ongoing training and awareness efforts, students and staff are empowered to recognize and report potential concerns.
Although we never want to experience a crisis, the See Something, Say Something protocols worked in Tuesday's incident. The reported tip is a powerful reminder that safety is a shared responsibility and that when we work together, we can help keep our schools safe.
As parents, you deserve the peace of mind that comes from knowing your children are in a safe learning environment. In the coming weeks, our team will launch this year's Parent and Family Engagement Sessions, including safety and security. During this learning opportunity, we will share information about district-wide safety protocols, security measures in place, and ongoing efforts to provide the safest possible environment for every student and staff member.
